[edit] Happy EasterPlease put all tasty Easter wishes here! Happy Easter :D _-M [edit] VandalProof 1.1 is Now Available For DownloadHappy Easter to all of you, and I hope that this version may fix your current problems and perhaps provide you with a few useful new tools. You can download version 1.1 at User:AmiDaniel/VandalProof. Let me warn you, however, to please be extremely careful when using the new Rollback All Contributions feature, as, aside from the excessive server lag it would cause if everyone began using it at once, it could seriously aggitate several editors to have their contributions reverted. If you would like to experiment with it, though, I'd be more than happy to use my many sockpuppets to create some "vandalism" for you to revert. If you have any problems downloading, installing, or otherwise, please tell me about them at User:AmiDaniel/VP/Bugs and I will do my best to help you. Thanks. AmiDaniel (Talk) 06:46, 16 April 2006 (UTC) [edit] And the Winner Is ...Greetings, ILovePlankton/archive2. The judges would like to announce that the winner for the Esperanza User Page Contest has been chosen. Congratulations to Sango123 for winning the contest. The winning entry can be found here.

Ciao gunslotsofguns 17:17, 21 April 2006 (UTC) [edit] Your "joke"I've removed your joke, it could get Wikipedia in a lot of toruble. Requesting permission from you to speedy that subpage under owner's request criteria, otherwise I will send it to MFD to get it deleted. Also, Karmafist's Esp AdvCom statement has already been posted, but I'm sure he thanks you for your offer. NSLE (T+C) at 02:33 UTC (2006-04-22) [edit] Bot flagNo, you shouldn't have to request a second bot flag, all that has changed is who issues the bot flags, existing bot flags have not been removed -- Tawker 02:55, 22 April 2006 (UTC) [edit] Thanks for the welcomingThanks for the Esparanzanistic welcoming! Linuxerist L/T 15:01, 22 April 2006 (UTC) [edit] AvilliaYou left a message on Martin's talk page saying that Avillia has made a version of AWB that does not require authentication. I understand you mean by this - he/she has tweaked the code so that users do not have to be approved. However, what is your proof for this? I do not see anything indicating this on your talk page, Martin's talk page, Avilla's talk page, or the AWB's talk page. I also do not see any AWB-like edits in Avillia's recent contributions. I am not assuming bad faith, I am simply asking for evidence so I can understand the problem more thoroughly and, hopefully, prevent it. Thank you for pointing this out! --M@thwiz2020 16:12, 22 April 2006 (UTC)
(UTC) [edit] german goo girlswhy did you remove the addition about the actress Kathy? 195.188.152.12 17:10, 22 April 2006 (UTC) As I said to another person who removed a previous reference to her, the contribution should be viewed in the context of the preceding paragraph about Betty. Please tell me why "whose performances show real enjoyment and enthusiasm." is unacceptable whereas "is popular amongst her audience for her very rough and straight-forward approaches)." is? 195.188.152.12 17:24, 22 April 2006 (UTC) Btw I suggest you move your reply to me from the User:195.188.152.12 user page to the discussion page. I have to say I think your deletions are very heavy handed. The comments about the actresses performances are an attempt to say why they are popular, not to present a biased viewpoint. They are popular. Why? Because their performances are thus. I should have also said that the sentence about Betty has been in there since the inception of the page. 195.188.152.12 18:17, 22 April 2006 (UTC) Ok so you objected to mention of their popularity. I removed all reference to their popularity yet you've gone and deleted it again. Why? 195.188.152.12 23:42, 22 April 2006 (UTC) [edit] Re: VotingI didn't vote for NSLE. Beyond fixing some of the most obnoxious bugs, like the persistent crash on start-up that many have experienced, version 1.2 also offers a wide variety of new features, including a stub-sorter, a global user whitelist and blacklist, navigational controls, and greater customization. You can find a full list of the new features here. While I believe this release to be a significant improvement over the last, it's nonetheless nowhere near the end of the line for VandalProof. Thanks to Rob Church, I now have an account on test.wikipedia.org with SysOp rights and have already been hard at work incorporating administrative tools into VandalProof, which I plan to make available in the near future. An example of one such SysOp tool that I'm working on incorporating is my simple history merge tool, which simplifies the process of performing history merges from one article into another. Anyway, if you haven't already, I'd encourage you to download and install version 1.2 and take it out for a test-drive. As always, your suggestions for improvement are always appreciated, and I hope that you will find this new version useful. Vandalproof is an interesting approach, I must say. :) LINUXERIST@ 03:34, 5 June 2006 (UTC) [edit] Your RFAI hope next time goes better. I will vote. FellowWikipedian 03:33, 5 June 2006 (UTC) It won't be long, I'm sure. :) RadioKirk talk to me 03:52, 5 June 2006 (UTC) Thank you for standing. Stephen B Streater 08:22, 5 June 2006 (UTC) So will I (vote, that is). I'm really sorry about it. Some people come across as very narrow minded *mutters away under breath*. Hey man! You're welcome. You deserve it imo ;) Cya! Whopper On the bright side, most of the oppose votes were for a couple of fixable reasons. So you might succeed in a couple of months! Where (talk) 13:03, 5 June 2006 (UTC)
Sorry about your RfA, and next time I'll vote support again. I'm sure that one day (one day soon) you'll make a great admin! The Halo (talk) 14:05, 5 June 2006 (UTC) Ah, it's sad to see your nomination fail. Here's to better luck next time! --Merovingian {T C @} 01:41, 6 June 2006 (UTC) [edit] RfAYou're welcome. Better luck next time. But seriously, you weren't an admin already!? Freddie 20:15, 5 June 2006 (UTC) [edit] Should everyone be WP:CIVIL ?Hi. I just noticed this edit, where you seem to be asking me a question. I'd say that, yes, everyone should really try to be civil. I think people shouldn't post threaded arguments in RfC outside views. I think users shouldn't have messy signatures. But the only thing I was really trying to communicate was that I didn't think that Ral315 was being at all incivil. The reason that we get wound up about WP:CIVIL is because creating a hostile agressive environment gets in the way of collaboratively editing together. It shouldn't ever be used as a shield against all criticism of actual edits. We are trying to build an encyclopedia, and we do need to be able to say "That edit is just not good". Correspondingly, Ral315 really should be able to say "That signature is messy" -- that isn't hostility. It isn't incivil of someone to tell him he's wrong about it, but it is a little weird to slap his wrist for potentially making someone feel bad. Jkelly 23:35, 5 June 2006 (UTC) [edit] Happy Evil Day
