Illuminationist philosophy
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Illuminationist Philosophy (Arabic: حكمة الإشراق ḥikmah al-ishrāq, Persian حكمت اشراق ḥikmat-i ishrāq) is an Iranian philosophy first developed by Shahab al-Din Suhrawardi, the famous Persian philosopher.
This school is a combination of Avicennism (Ibn Sina’s early Islamic philosophy) and ancient Iranian philosophical disciplines, dressed up with many new innovative ideas of Suhrawardi. It is often described as having been influenced by Neoplatonism.
