Ilkhichi (Persian & Azerbaijani: ایلخچی) is a rather small town south east of Tabriz in East Azarbaijan (Iran). Population of the town is little over 80,000 and the main economic activity is agriculture.
Almost entire population of the Ilkhichi are followers of Alevi sect of Islam.[citation needed]
