[edit] History

The company's philosophy has remained unchanged throughout its history. In 1949, Ángel Iglesias, the company’s founder and current CEO, began the industrial activities where the significant willpower, effort and entrepreneurial spirit shown has resulted in today’s IKUSI. At that time, Spanish households were receiving the first television signals and household appliances had just begun to appear. These were business opportunities that the new company made the most of, thanks to the far-sightedness of its founder and its enthusiastic groundbreaking team of workers.

In the 60s, the company consolidated its corporate status and embarked on a growth process where Technology and Communications were the main driving forces behind the operations, thanks to a state-of-the-art R&D&I Department, set up in 1964. The following years, and until the end of the 80s, IKUSI diversified its operations and began to work on security technologies, public information systems, remote control equipment for cranes, tele-meter systems for household energy consumption and other services. Cutting edge technologies were incorporated and the diversification of products and services intensified. This has continued to be IKUSI’s modus operandi up to the present day. The company’s growth engine has been the R&D&i departments, which developed the first products using optic fibre technology, expert systems, etc. in 1989.

In the 90s, IKUSI decided to take a qualitative jump in its growth process. The company fostered its internationalisation process to ensure it was an active presence and a key player on the world
