Don't think so. Ikenobo is the oldest form. Perhaps it evolved into Ikebana? Soo 18:40, 25 August 2005 (UTC)

The article claims that the current grand master is the 45th. In the Urasenke tradition of tea ceremony, which also traces its lineage to the 15th century, the current grandmaster is only the 16th. Why the big difference? Exploding Boy 18:36, 17 May 2006 (UTC)
