MacMail UBX

Please could you not put instructions for your userbox on the UBX Gallery page but rather on the actual MacMail UBX Template by inserting tags before and after the instructions Rugby471 08:17, 21 April 2007 (UTC)

I have taken care of all of it, for the userbox, if you type in {{Template:User Macmail}} and after the pipe ( | ) character the version number, eg 10.4.1, it will come up with that on the certain page! I have also added a category so you can view you is using your UBX, it is Category:Wikipedians_who_use_ Mac_OSX_Mail, if there is anything you don't understand, please ask me on my talk page.

You are being trolled. Quite successfully. I've blocked him for a few hours and will now tap him with the cluestick. Please try to avoid reverting his talk page - he's getting off on it. Thanks and happy editing.  ⋐⋑ REDVEЯS 17:00, 12 May 2007 (UTC)

Don't worry too much about people blanking their talk pages - if you report to AIV with a note saying "talk page blanked", the admins there will know to check the page history. We've got a couple of hours peace, any way - 3hr block applied (no more possible: shared IP address I believe). Cheers!  ⋐⋑ REDVEЯS 17:09, 12 May 2007 (UTC)

Vandalism?

Hello, you recently notified me on my talk page about vandalism. This isn't the case. I am currently writing and testing a bot that will notify an article's creator when it has been nominated for speedy deletion. If you look at the talk page in question, my bot accidentlly put a second nomination for the same image. I was simply reverting my own edits to remove the duplicate edit my bot added. --69.91.62.179 20:09, 12 May 2007 (UTC)

Not Vandalism

Dear Ignatzmice,

The edits that 12.205.154.197 made to my user page were not vandalism, in fact, they were made by me. Thank you for your concern, though.

Why did you remove this barnstar? [[1]]Gaff ταλκ 20:30, 13 May 2007 (UTC)

I was not the IP, I just saw your edit show up on the recent changes...no biggie. cheersGaff ταλκ 20:37, 13 May 2007 (UTC)

Sorry about that, I am still learning. I deleted something that I felt was not appropriate and not researched. Another user had pointed out how it had been copied and pasted from an animal-activist web site. It obviously lacked any neutrality.

I won't make modifications in the future unless I have the time to explain why. (69.134.77.198 (Talk))

Image:Mail Icon.png

Hello, Ignatzmice. An automated process has found and will an image or media file tagged as nonfree media, and thus is being used under fair use that is in your userspace. The image (Image:Mail Icon.png) was found at the following location: User:Ignatzmice. This image or media will be removed per criterion number 9 of our non-free content policy. The image or media will be replaced with Image:NonFreeImageRemoved.svg , so your formatting of your userpage should be fine. This does not necessarily mean that the image is being deleted, or that the image is being removed from other pages. It is only being removed from the page mentioned above. All mainspace instances of this image will not be affected Please find a free image or media to replace it with, and or remove the image from your userspace. Vietnam

Thank you for reverting the vandalisms made to the Vietnam article, however it seemed you mistakenly reverted and 1 paragraph [2] was lost during the process. It was a real pain sifting through the history to find it again. While I appreciate your efforts, I hope you watch out for that in the future, thank you =). Sir Vicious 12:51, 19 May 2007 (UTC)

Hi, it's no problem at all, I was just frustrated because that article is always vandalized and yet it is not locked, so ... after multiple reversions, if someone is not paying attention, contents tend to disappear and no one would be able to find it. This is not the first time I had to go back and find content b/c vandalisms on that article and no other vandal policers seem to pay much attention when they revert so I hope you understand my frustration. How do we make it so they would lock that article from IP edits btw? Is there anywhere I can suggest that? I'm not at all familiar with the process. Thanks for understanding. Sir Vicious 08:03, 20 May 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for the pointer =), I've just requested for the article to be semi-protected. Regards. Sir Vicious 23:42, 20 May 2007 (UTC)

SHA-1

While looking at the category for Wikipedians with committed identities, I realized that you are using a SHA-1 hash. While SHA1 hashes are relatively secure, it is possible for them to be hacked. I advise that you try a SHA-512 hash. A calculator for SHA512 can be found here,[[3]]. While not required, this would further add to the seecurity of your account. Thank you for keeping Wikipedia safe. Remember to use a strong password!! - Hairchrm 02:50, 29 May 2007 (UTC)

Re: Huge WP Logo

Ignatzmice, my browser shows it perfectly with the logo on the right and the userboxes on the left. I tuned my userpage and the size of the logo to show perfectly on MY screen. If you can't see it as it should be, just scroll down. No big deal.

And DON'T come complaining to me that the Wikipedia logo on my userpage is too big. I reserve the right to control my OWN userpage and I WILL revert ANY edit made to my userpage that I do not agree with.

DON'T COMPLAIN ABOUT MY USERPAGE

IT'S NOT THAT HARD TO SCROLL DOWN THE SCREEN

Invalid sig

Hello, I would like to point out that the text you now use for signing is not a valid signature. {{CURRENTTIME}} … shows current time for whoever reads the page, not the time when you left the message. Also, even if you changed it to {{subst:CURRENTTIME}} …, the time format is not default and is confusing for other users.
I think what you're trying to achieve could be done by leaving your sig as "— ~~~~" in the script code and then customizing the rest in your preferences using "raw signature" option ∴ Alex Smotrov 13:15, 2 August 2007 (UTC)

Tag on 71.59.125.63

Hey... I removed your tag from this user's page, because it seems to me there was no malicious intent. The user was removing the content from one place and putting it in another in two steps and our reverts kept getting in the way. He doesn't deserve such a high level warning for this blundering... probably doesn't even deserve mine. Ok? Gscshoyru 14:01, 3 August 2007 (UTC)

User talk:89.10.24.105

Just a quick reminder to help you out, from Wikipedia's policy about WP:DFTT, it's a bad idea to tell an IP user to stop. But, if you know something better about Wikipedia's IP trollers, please let me know. --Specter01010 19:28, 14 September 2007 (UTC)

Confused

I'm not quite sure why you're reverting me and accusing me of vandalism. I'm redirecting one article to another to minimise overlap and to make the Epic poetry article more about the conventions of the epic rather than just a list of epics. 81.153.169.5 19:53, 14 September 2007 (UTC)

Not impressed that you've reverted all of the grammar fixes as well. 81.153.169.5 20:00, 14 September 2007 (UTC)

Your message

Enabling trolling: not a good idea. Using a template to enable trolling: not a good idea. Making threats you are unable to carry out: also not a good idea.--Calton | Talk 01:45, 15 September 2007 (UTC)

What? I'm just trying to help...
Leaving a templated threat you have no authority to enforce, all in support of someone else trolling? That's a strange new meaning of "help" I was previously unaware of. And as for your budding empathy for a troll, I leave to your conscience. --Calton | Talk 02:13, 15 September 2007 (UTC)

IP edits

Could I suggest that you shouldn't assume bad faith in regard to IP edits? Also, in future you could be less zealous in your use of the revert button. Addhoc 13:25, 15 September 2007 (UTC)

Just a suggestion. He's technically right, he can remove the warning templates from his page. There's no use edit warring in revision over it with him. If he continues to vandalize, just report him. Admins look over his contrib history before blocking. Into The Fray T/C 16:29, 15 September 2007 (UTC)

borneo

I figured it out. There were three edits of vandalism by the ip. Your twinkle revert only reverted two of them, but in the edit summary created it seemed to have reverted all three. Probably this was caused by the fact that the last act of vandalism was just before your edit (same minute). The diff is from the last good version to your edit, so what it shows is the vandalism which you did not remove (the third edit). Concluding, it seems like a peculiarity in twinkle, caused by the short time between your revert, and the third act of vandalism. It might be something to report to the twinkle developer(s). ssepp(talk) 22:14, 17 September 2007 (UTC)
