Ignatius Jones

Ignatius Jones is an Australian actor and former lead singer of punk cabaret band Jimmy And The Boys. With David Atkins, he was the creative force behind the 2000 Sydney Olympics Opening and Closing Ceremonies. He was also the co-writer and co-director of the Musical theatre production of "The Man from Snowy River: Arena Spectacular".
He was born Juan Ignacio Trapaga Esteban of a Basque-Chinese father and a Catalan-American mother in the Philippines in 1964. He became a naturalised Australian in 1971, but maintains a dual Spanish-Australian citizenship.
He attended high school at St Ignatius' College, Riverview, near the Sydney river-side suburb of Lane Cove. He is the brother of former Play School presenter Monica Trapaga.
