Ignacio Scocco (born 29 May 1985 in Hughes Santa Fe) is an Argentine football player.[1]

He currently plays as a striker for UNAM, a Mexico City team commonly known as the Pumas. He joined the UNAM last season, Pumas signed Scocco for 8 Million from Newell's Old Boys. There's a lot of expectation to see if he can become an offensive threat and a figure on the team and has scored a couple of late goals to secure ties and wins for the club. Despite this he has still not secured a starting spot on UNAM's roster. Scocco also scored a hattrick for Pumas against UAG Tecos. Scocco has also being having talks with Greek giants AEK Athens.

The highlight of his career to date was being part of the Newell's team that won the Apertura 2004 championship in Argentina.

Ignacio Scocco started his career at Newell's Old Boys in 2004, Scocco managed to have 75 appearances and scoring 48 goals, he also use to play with star player Fernando Belluschi, Scocco also was a big part of Newell's Old Boys winning the Apertura 2004. He also scored a very important goal for Newell's Old Boys against Boca Juniors scoring in the 82' minute making his club 1-0 up. In 2006 Ignacio Scocco was soled to Pumas UNAM for 8.Million, but stated to the newspaper «Reforma» that one day he will return to Newell's Old Boys.

In 2006 Ignacio Scocco joined Mexican side Pumas. Scocco signed a three year deal with them earning 500.000 Euros a year. Scocco mad his debut against Chiapas Fútbol Club, his seconed apperrance was against Veracruz and also scoring a penalty. Scocco also scored a hattrick for Pumas against UAG Tecos. Scocco wears the number 10 and is also the most feared striker in Mexico.

Ignacio Scocco started his Youth Interenational Career in 2004, Scocco has had 12 appearances and scored 3 Goals, he made his debut against Colombia on the 27 November, 2004. Scocco made his seconed appearance against Paraguay and scored in the 77' minute macking Argentina 2-0 up.

On the 15 April, 2005 José Pekerman called up Ignacio Scocco for a friendly against Chile but was left on the substitutes. Ignacio Scocco is also one of the biggest talents in South America.
