Ightenhill is a civil parish, and a district of Burnley, Lancashire.
The district is composed principally of a large 1990s housing estate. It is bounded to the north and east by the River Calder, to the south by the Leeds and Liverpool Canal and the M65 motorway, and to the west by Padiham Road.
It lies in the Whittlefield with Ightenhill ward, which is 97.13% White.[1] The index of multiple deprivation indicates that most of the ward is more affluent than the national average:[2] only 4.34% of children in the ward are eligible for free school meals.[3] There were 52.7 crimes per 1,000 inhabitants in the year to December 2007 (Lancashire average 89.4), a fall of 8.1% on the previous twelve months.[4]
