Iganga is the chief town of Iganga District in Uganda, and is located in the country's Busoga region.

Iganga town has several internet cafes, several guest houses, and a bustling market in the center of town beside the taxi park. Town landmarks include the hospital, on the eastern side of town, the DevelopNet Iganga project, which houses an internet cafe and a community center for the Iganga District NGO/CBO Forum, and the Mwaana Hotel, which houses an internet cafe and a restaurant and appeals to visitors.

Iganga is located roughly 22 miles east of the town of Jinja, Uganda's second largest city.

Busoga University, located 1 mile west of Iganga town on the Jinja-Iganga/Mbale Tororo highway, commenced operations on February 12th, 1999.

The first mayor of Iganga was Mr.yazeed Abdu babghey who0 served for two terms before being replaced by bukyabubi,Kyeyago and now his worship the mayor,siraj katono who was a Fifa grade referee before embarking on politics.whereas the district chairman is mr.Asuman Kyaffu.
