If You Let Me Stay
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
"If You Let Me Stay" is the first single released from soul-R&B singer Terence Trent D'Arby in 1987. It was taken from his million-selling debut album, Introducing the Hardline According to Terence Trent D'Arby.
The song is a smooth R&B song that showcases D'Arby's impressive vocals, but it was not until the release of the second single, "Wishing Well", did D'Arby manage to crossover his success in the UK to the US.
"If You Let Me Stay" reached #68 on the Billboard Hot 100 and peaked at an impressive #7 on the UK Singles Chart, becoming one of the biggest hits of the year in the UK.
