If There Were No Benny Cemoli is a science fiction short story by Philip K. Dick. First published in 1963 in Galaxy magazine. The story follows a government that stays in power by fighting a never seen adversary named Benny Cemoli, dare they fall foul of diplomats from Alpha Centuri who wish to find the perpetrators of the nuclear war which destroyed the planet
