"If I Was A Drinkin' Man" is a country song written by Byron Hill and JB Rudd, and was recorded Charlie Floyd for Liberty Records (1994), and by Neal McCoy (1995) for Atlantic Records. Beyond modest chart success of Neal McCoy's recording, the content of the song stirred positive support and interest from many recovering alcoholics.[citation needed] The song won an ASCAP Award for being among the most performed country songs of 1995.[citation needed]
