Hi there, Thanks for all the work you've been doing on Guantanamo. Two things: (1) The page created for Idris Ahmed Abdu Qader Idris is wrong, I'm afraid. The detainee to whom the Combatant Status Review Board page refers is almost certainly Ridah bin Saleh al-Yazidi (ISN 38). (2) I'm currently writing a book about the Guantanamo detainees and am extremely interested in knowing how you managed to extract 169 detainee numbers from the March 2005 Combatant Status Review Board documents. I could only find 88 numbers (on pages 41-161). Guantanamo 13:21, 13 December 2006 (UTC)

How did I read the ID numbers on page 162-257? Don't laugh. On pages 41-161, when the adobe acrobat reader renders the page, it leaves the hand-inscribed ID number there. On pages 162-257 the adobe acrobat reader renders the the page, it renders the hand-inscribed ID number, renders some other parts of the page, and then writes over the numbers, erasing them. If you slow down your computer, so adobe acrobat reader performs its rendering more slowly, you will have time to read the ID numbers. Making my older computer defrag my hard drive was enough to slow my computer down enough for me to read the numbers.
Thanks for the heads-up about Idris Ahmed Abdu Qader Idris and Ridah bin Saleh al-Yazidi. Now that I have told you how I read the other numbers perhaps we could compare notes? If you try to slow down your computer enough that you can take a look at the number that acrobat reader overwrites, and make your record, then I will send you my list, and we can see if we read the same number. Whoever wrote the numbers doesn't have great penmanship.
Cheers! -- Geo Swan 21:11, 13 December 2006 (UTC)
