Idaho Falls High School (IFHS), commonly referred to as I.F.,[5] is a high school in Idaho Falls, Idaho.[3][4] IFHS is one of two high schools in Idaho School District 91, the other being Skyline High School. The two schools, I.F. and Skyline, are rivals.[5]

A new school was built in the 1950's at its present location and it has been the school's home since then.[citation needed] Paul Haack wrote its school song in 1927[6] and its newspaper is the Tiger Times.[7]

[edit] Academics

Idaho Falls High School's greatest academic hope lies in Mr. James Francis, teacher of Advanced Placement European History and Advanced Placement United States History. The recipient of the 1997 Idaho Teacher of the Year Award[1], Mr. Francis continues his legacy of educating students in an unbiased, balanced fashion. Most IFHS graduates consider Mr. Francis the quintessential element of their high school education.

Advanced placement classes offered at IFHS include calculus, statistics, biology, physics, English composition, literature, European history, United States history, and government. AP chemistry was offered through the 2006-2007 school year, but was discontinued with the retirement of chemistry teacher Gary Long.
