Ichchapuram is located at 19.12° N 84.7° E.[1] It has an average elevation of 7 metres (22 feet).

As of 2001 India census,[2] Ichchapuram had a population of 32,650. Males constitute 48% of the population and females 52%. Ichchapuram has an average literacy rate of 53%, lower than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 64%, and female literacy is 44%. In Ichchapuram, 13% of the population is under 6 years of age.
