ICF International is a management, technology, and policy consulting firm.
ICF is based in Fairfax, Virginia, with offices in business centers in the Americas, Asia, and Europe. The firm develops solutions to energy, climate change, environment, transportation, social programs, health, defense, and emergency management issues.
On April 24, 2006, the company changed its name from ICF Consulting to the current title, ICF International. On May 11, 2006, it filed its S-1 Registration Statement with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) for the purpose of issuing an initial public offering (IPO). In October, 2006, the company went public in an IPO of 4.7 million shares of common stock.
In 2006, ICF was awarded a contract to administer the Road Home program by the Louisiana Recovery Authority. ICF has taken the brunt of frustration from many Louisiana residents with long delays processing applications for the program, slow and inefficient hiring, delays and other problems with disbursement of awarded funds, and an inability to achieve state-mandated goals for application processing.
