[edit] Blackmoor
Hi! You recently added some excellent info on Blackmoor and the proto-RPG wargames to role-playing game. I've moved it to the History of role-playing games#Origins; I just thought you might like to know that it hasn't been deleted, just moved. Percy Snoodle 08:59, 6 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Invitation to join Wikipedia:WikiProject Eastern Orthodoxy
Hi there! I've noticed that you've edited articles pertaining to the Eastern Orthodox Church. I wanted to extend an invitation to you to join the WikiProject dedicated to organizing and improving articles on the subject, which can be found at: WikiProject Eastern Orthodoxy. This WikiProject was begun because a need was perceived to raise the level of quality of articles on Wikipedia which deal with the Eastern Orthodox Church.
You can find information on the project page about the WikiProject, as well as how to join and how to indicate that you are a member of the project. Additionally, you may be interested in helping out with our collaboration of the month. I hope you'll consider joining and thank you for your contributions thus far! —A.S. [edit] Bogosort
I reverted an edit you made to Bogosort because I don't understand what you were trying to say. So... just thought I should let you know. If you want to clarify or something. ~ Booya Bazooka 02:33, 12 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] United States Navy
Hi, I have some concerns with your edits on this article. The statements you added, while they might definitely be true, sound dubious to the casual observer if not accompanied with a proper citation. For example:
"The US Navy has undeniable global superiority in aircraft carriers: Not only does the USN have as many aircraft carriers as the rest of the world put together, but its aircraft carriers individually are much larger than those of the rest of the world (with the notable exceptions of the Russian carrier Kuznetsov and the FS Charles de Gaulle), with commeasurately larger and more capable aircraft." "Undeniable" is a very strong word and the sentence will be picked apart by reviewers if the article was put up for featured article review again. Also, can you provide exact numbers for ship size and ship numbers? I think that statement is able to be proven more than the previous one.
"The Amphibious assault ships of the US Navy, which have a secondary function as a light carrier or "Sea Control Ship," are roughly equivalent in striking power to most foreign aircraft carriers." Who says this? Can you give a definitive source?
As for the "Where are the nearest carriers?" that quote is ok because it is attributed to Bill Clinton. I can find a source for that myself. Actually, I think what you wrote for the aircraft section is better served in the aircraft carrier section.
Thanks for your edits. I've tagged them with the verify source tag for now, but if you can't find a source after a few weeks, I'll remove the whole sentences. People trust wikipedia for info, and I'm just making sure it is as correct and verifiable as possible to remove all doubt. :) Arcimpulse 23:08, 16 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Rosemount High School
Thanks for the note about Carroll's Woods. I hope that the students will get involved and add detail about academics, activities, sports, and important people from its nearly 90-year history. But thus far, there have only been a couple of inappropiate additions (one you deleted - thanks). I had a better quality School Crest up, but when I asked for copyright permission, the principle asked that I remove it. He was afraid people would think this site was sanctioned by the district. I don't think he grasps the wiki concept, but I complied. Appraiser 14:21, 29 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Please use edit summaries
Hello. Please be courteous to other editors and use edit summaries when updating articles. The Mathbot tool shows your usage of edit summaries to be extremely low:
- Edit summary usage for Iceberg3k: 5% for major edits and 9% for minor edits. Based on the last 150 major and 150 minor edits in the article namespace.
Using edit summaries helps other editors quickly understand your edits, which is especially useful when you make changes to articles that are on others' watchlists. Thanks and happy editing! --Kralizec! (talk) 17:05, 11 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Wells class
Ho. Sprry to be rude but i reverted your changes, the problem with your change was it is very guess worky like and OR, as this ship is a "future" ship from the 29th century, registries etc make work alot differntly then they do in the 24th century and so its best not to guess on anything in the article. thanks/Fenton, Matthew Lexic Dark 52278 Alpha 771 19:16, 13 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Halloween Blizzard
Hi Iceberg: I didn't move Halloween Blizzard because I don't think there is a need to make the title even longer than it needs to be, and "Halloween Blizzard" is descriptive enough. —Mets501 (talk) 01:54, 14 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Space Ghost Coast to Coast
Your change to Space Ghost Coast to Coast is not standard. I've rarely seen a link from random text to an article of merely relative content on Wikipedia. Usually the linked text is the same as the name of the article it is linking to. I haven't removed it because I see what you're going for, but I think you should think of a better way to do it. Or decide not to link there way at all. Noit 22:05, 17 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] TSR, Inc. and Williams's bizzare policy.
In this edit you make the claim that Lorraine Williams forbade playing games at TSR. Much though I dislike the woman, per Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons such a major and potentially insulting claim really needs some sort of evidence (as the claim that she looked down on gamers did). Can you can add a citation to the article? Alan De Smet | Talk 23:36, 19 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Congress number
Re: this edit, it looks like some people are going to disagree with changing the templates to show the 110th Congress. I'm not sure how that's going to play out but I've already had a couple of my individual state template changes reverted. Personally, I don't see the point of having the template show all of the lame duck 109th reps. —Wknight94 (talk) 16:55, 9 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Fan speculation on fictional works
Speculation is great for a fan website on fictional works, but it should not be in Wikipedia. Please don't add your own speculative material to Macross and Robotech entries, particularly speculative ruminations that aren't specifically stated in primary continuity works.1-54-24 19:12, 5 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Unspecified source for Image:Gat-01.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Gat-01.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.
As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 18:05, 5 July 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ShakespeareFan00 18:05, 5 July 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Non-free use disputed for Image:Gat-x105-aile.jpg
This file may be deleted. |
Thanks for uploading Image:Gat-x105-aile.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ShakespeareFan00 18:05, 5 July 2007 (UTC)
