Netineo is platform where Internauts can broadcast live video and interact with other Internauts-viewers.

Netineo is based in Paris, France, with its R&D laboratory in Israel, funded by a business angel. In July 2007, it announced a live HD Internet video platform to public users. Some French articles said that Microsoft considered Netineo as a potential competitor for its LiveStation.

Netineo allows users to can program live channel(s) by using pre-recorded video and/or audio files, or broadcast live flow of webcams, camcorder…. There’s no limit of size and duration for pre-existing video or audio files.

With the overlay function of Netineo application, users can enrich their live broadcasting with various elements (text, picture/video, mouse drawing) before broadcasting their production live.

Currently, the software is in an open beta stage; no invite is required to become a user. Currently the beta is available for Windows XP and Vista.

The application is based on Windows Media technology (ASF).

Upload flow format supported: mpg, mpeg, avi, asf, wmv, vob, mp3, wav


[edit] Required uploading bandwidth

For broadcasting audio flow, a minimum bandwidth of 40 Kbits/s is required; video flow 350 Kbits/s. The uploading flow is encoded to ASF on the fly.

As Netineo application loads the broadcast into a buffer to analyze the receive internet speeds, there is 15 – 30 seconds’ lag between the application broadcasting screen and the web-page broadcasting.
