[edit] The non-elections

It's not a big deal either way - I just don't think there's anything to say about them. In each case the incumbent announced that he or she would seek another term. In almost all cases no-one else was publicly considered. If someone does decide to write an article about one of these (i.e. someone finds something to say) then I suppose we can add them to the template. Haukur (talk) 23:07, 7 February 2008 (UTC)

I think they should be included for completeness' sake -- they were technically officially mandated elections, it's just that there was only one candidate. —Nightstallion 12:08, 8 February 2008 (UTC)
If we went through the process of going to the ballots when there is one candidate I would agree completely. (And some people feel we should do that so that people can express their displeasure with the single candidate via blank votes.) But since we don't, an election, as I understand the word, doesn't occur. Haukur (talk) 12:46, 8 February 2008 (UTC)
Mh. But neither do the Irish, and in that case, there *are* articles... —Nightstallion 16:13, 11 February 2008 (UTC)
And if someone does write articles on the Icelandic ones then I think they should be in the template. But I think it is unlikely that anyone will so I think that until then they should be left out. But it's really not a big deal, if you strongly prefer to keep them there then that's alright. Haukur (talk) 18:37, 11 February 2008 (UTC)
Well, we usually redlink to historical elections, so I'd prefer to have the links in there, if that doesn't bother you too much. ;)Nightstallion 18:47, 11 February 2008 (UTC)
But they weren't ele... oh well, I give up :) Haukur (talk) 23:14, 11 February 2008 (UTC)
