Icelandic presidential elections determine who serves as president of the Republic of Iceland for four-year terms. The most recent election occurred on June 26, 2004. The mandate of the current president, Ólafur Ragnar Grímsson, expires in the summer of 2008. If more than one candidate seeks the office at that time, a presidential election will be held on June 28 of that year.
