[edit] Game Summary
The last medal, the one for men's ice hockey was awarded to Kazakhstan on February 6, the last day of the Games. Even though the final game between Kazakhstan and Japan resulted in a 1-1 tie, the gold was given to Kazakhstan because it had scored a total of 24 goals in its three final round-robin matches, compared to Japan's 21. While China took the bronze in the men's event, it successfully defended its title in women's ice hockey. Japan took silver and Kazakhstan bronze, just like in the previous Winter Asiad.
