[edit] Facts/notes

  • iCarly is the first show ever to have the audience help the show by sending video clips to the official Web site.[citation needed]}
  • Dan Schneider has his shows almost cross worlds. For example, Daka Shoes is a company in his previous show Drake & Josh, but it is also one in iCarly. Another product is the Clackers, a European toy that was introduced, again in Drake and Josh. The toy was seen again in Zoey 101, another one of Dan's shows. Also on Zoey 101, Lola was in the dorm changing her ringtone, and the iCarly theme song came up as an instrumental.
  • The iCarly Web site is seen in Zoey 101 in many episodes.
  • In the episode iWanna Stay With Spencer, Carly and Spencer's grandfather says that he is staying at the Parker-Nichols Hotel, probably referring to the first episode of season 3 of Drake and Josh where Drake and Josh use their house as a hotel.
  • In iWill Date Freddie, when Carly and Sam do a segment on animals dressing up as other animals, they bring in a dog dressed up as a pig. This is "Robin's wiener dog", a reference to one of the show's producers, Robin Weiner, who also produced Drake and Josh.
  • In the episode, iWanna Stay With Spencer, when Carly is cleaning her locker, she places a GEO in the box. Two GEO's were seen in the Drake & Josh movie, Drake & Josh Go Hollywood.
  • In many episodes, the book Scarlett's Web is mentioned, a pun on "Charlotte's Web."
  • Computers seen in iCarly usually have a pear on the back; this is a pun on Apple Inc. used in other Nick shows such as Fairly OddParents, Drake & Josh, and Zoey 101.
  • The "Pear Phone" is a pun on the iPhone. The Pear Phone is exactly the same as the iPhone except that it has a pear on the back. This is seen in iGot A Sponsor and iGot Detention. Similarly, in the episode iStakeout, the Pearpod is a parody of the iPod.
  • In iWant a World Record, the world record book, The Jonas Book of World Records, is a parody of The Guinness Book of World Records.
  • As shown on Nick's A Closer Look The Pear Laptop where the monitor is, is a green screen.
  • In iGot A Sponsor, Carly buys designer sunglasses, with the name of Mercedez Lenz; this is a pun on Mercedes Benz.
  • In iGot Detention, Spencer makes a 10-foot cup of coffee with the label "Skybucks" on it. This is a pun on Starbucks.
  • In the episode iHatch Chicks, they go on Freddie's laptop and one of the Web sites they visit is "Chickipedia" which is a parody of Wikipedia. If you go to this Web site, it goes an actual wiki Web site about female celebrities.
  • In iFence, Carly, Freddie, and Sam are seen looking up 'the Fencing Bensons' on Zaplook.com, a parody of Google.com. Zaplook redirects you to iCarly.com.
  • In iFence, Freddie's family comes from the 'Tingling Brothers' Circus; a parody of the Ringling Brothers Circus.
  • If you check Sam's locker on the inside you can see cut- outs of Drake Bell and Fall Out Boy's Andy Hurley.
  • In iFence, Carly and Sam are going to go to Build-A-Bra, which is a pun of Build-A-Bear.
  • In iStakeout, Mrs. Benson mentioned "Mall-Mart", A pun on Wal-Mart.
  • In iStakeout Carly mentioned "Peppy Cola", a pun on Pepsi and Coca-Cola.
  • In iStakeout, Sam is seen drinking "Mocha Cola" which is also seen on Drake and Josh.
  • In the beginning credits of "iCarly", you see some quick links to Web sites. One of these is to ToonJuice.com. This is seen in Zoey 101 as the Web site on which Chase and Michael put their cartoons. Going to toonjuice.com redirects you to the Nickelodeon site of Zoey 101.
  • In iNevel there was iBoring on the iCarly picture on nevelocity.com. Later in the episode Nevel had to change the review of iCarly. But in iRue the Day there was iBoring on the picture again. The page could have been archived.
  • The computer screen shows mixes of Windows and Mac Interfaces, much like Zoey 101 and Drake & Josh.
  • The transition to a new scene, is much like "iMovie".
  • In iCarly, they watch a TV show named Girly Cow. You can't see the screen, but the sound you hear is:
Everyone: Surprise!
High Pitched Voice: (talks a lot)
(after a while)
Low Voice: Monkey-
High Voice: -Marmoset!
Low Voice: Moron!
This is heard in a lot of episodes of iCarly and Zoey 101 and in one Drake and Josh episode Megan's Revenge, right before Dianna Vosh comes in.
  • in "Icarly Saves TV" the TV station's name is TVS this is a pun on TBS
  • in "Icarly Saves TV" the show you see that the show the station manager created is a pun on "Full House"
  • in "Icarly Saves TV" the dinosaur is a pun on "Barney"
  • in "iCarly Saves TV" around the beginning of the episode, the scene shows a glimpse of the Dance on Sunset stages.

[edit] Fictional Web sites that Redirect to iCarly.com

  • In the opening credits, several fake Web sites can be seen as bookmarks. Any of these Web sites redirect you to iCarly.com. The only one that does not redirect you to iCarly.com is ToonJuice.
  • In Zoey 101 when Lola uses one of Stacey's prized cotton swabs, she freaks out and mentions buying them from specialtyswabs.com; if you go to specialtyswabs.com it redirects to icarly.com.
  • In Zoey 101, Quinn and Lola visit highschoolcrazy.com. If you go this Web site, it redirects you to iCarly.com.
  • In iHatch tadpoles, Freddie accidentally goes to "Worldofchucks.com." (a play on Wikipedia), or "worldoftadpoles .com" which is what Freddie meant to go to, they redirect you to iCarly.com.
  • In iWill Date Freddie, Freddie helps Valerie create a WebShow, and the Web site that they create is called "www.thevalerieshow.com". If you go to this Web site, it redirects you to iCarly.com.
  • Nevelocity.com a Web site mentioned in iNevel that was created by Nevel redirects you to iCarly.com.
  • In iPilot Freddie uploaded the video from the audition to a site called Splashface (a play on YouTube). Splashface is also in the "Friends of iCarly" list on the bottom of the iCarly Web site. Going to splashface.com redirects you to iCarly.com.
  • In iMight Switch Schools, Carly had a dream that there was a WebShow called iGibby. If you try to go to iGibby.com, it will redirect you to iCarly.com.
  • In iHeart Art, at the end of the webcast, Sam and Carly say to go to iCarly.com. "Not iCarly.net. .Net is for losers." If you try to go to iCarly.net, it redirects to iCarly.com.
  • In iFence', at the end of the webcast, Sam and Carly say go to iCarly.com. "Not iSnarly. iSnarly is just a website of a snarling dog." If you try to go on iSnarly.com, it redirects to iCarly.com.

[edit] Article should be rewritten

The article sounds like it was written by an 8-year-old, in my opinion. Just read the Carly Shay blurb and you'll likely see what I mean. (24.47.88.195 (talk) 21:16, 6 January 2008 (UTC))

i agree, but since i don't watch the show i cant do it.

Good Lord, yes, can a grown up please clean up this article? Thanks. 71.206.216.251 (talk) 19:16, 26 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] some dumbass, plot isn't the characters!

i'm changing plot to be a part of characters! plot is a young girl creates a web show! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.215.70.75 (talk) 20:35, 30 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Sources needed

Where did you get the names for the episodes? Please provide a link. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 72.77.92.54 (talk) 20:31, 24 April 2007 (UTC).

Well it is said on Nick--Physik 03:31, 5 August 2007 (UTC)

I don't care if it's on Nick. If you don't have a TV.com or IMDB.com source, please don't add it. Wait a few weeks...please be patient. --76.21.32.2 03:01, 8 October 2007 (UTC)

If Nick says that's the name then isn't that 100% true source? How can you make tv.com or imdb more reliable than the people who make the show?

that really makes no sense........why have an unofficial source when nick is a 100% true source... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.187.143.90 (talk) 02:01, 24 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Parodies?

Is this whole thing based on parodies of real things? e.g. the little "i" representing the iSomething's that Apple Computer makes, as well as iCarly being a parody of lonelygirl15? 24.126.26.172 20:00, 1 August 2007 (UTC)

No, but they're going to get their butts sued off of them for copying Apple Inc., the best computer maker. --69.115.9.165 23:26, 2 August 2007 (UTC)

Wow thats buyfar the worst comment ever The I*** dosnt violate any copyrights of apple if they were calling the show Ipod Then apple would sue.--Jwein 22:20, 10 August 2007 (UTC)

I know, they say 'Pear,' not 'Apple.' --Pumagirl7 (talk) 22:17, 23 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Extras

I think this section shuld be called "Trivia" not "Extras" --ERDRGZ 21:36, 9 September 2007 (UTC) Yeah, you're right. It should be Trivia. Signed VeronicaGirl

[edit] Characters

I don't know if the teacher played by Sterling is a primary or secondary character so I listed her under secondary for now. Besides the brother, she's the only adult with a semi-important role. Principal doesn't count.  Chantessy  14:45, 11 September 2007 (UTC) Is The Sutie Comeing To Icarly —Preceding unsigned comment added by Bratzkid20 (talkcontribs) 16:09, 16 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] 14?

I think Nick said she was thirteen. Plus, shows are filmed about a year before they air, so she would be thirteen then. Again, I heard it from Nick. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.130.83.211 (talk) 23:09, 23 September 2007 (UTC)

Yeah, Carly's 13, it says so many times in the show, i think. Mirand Cosgrove's like 16 or something, but Carly's 13. Spencer does call her a "tween" at some time in the show, though...... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.224.26.233 (talk) 02:42, 18 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Schedule?

Is that even necessary? WAVY 10 Fan 19:58, 2 October 2007 (UTC)

I don't know if it's necessary but it's useful and I think it looks cool :-Þ Ospinad 20:11, 3 October 2007 (UTC)
You may need to have more than WP:USEFUL or WP:ILIKEIT in order to satisfy some admins. Personally, I would prefer that the airings be mentioned in the actual text (and certainly not with those colors). WAVY 10 Fan 20:17, 5 October 2007 (UTC)

Those colors are hideous! This is wikipedia, not "My first Geocities page". Something a bit more professional would be nice. Agiorgio 11:38, 7 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fansites

People keep on adding fansites to the external links, and they should not be there. No one seems to be getting the message. Please help. Tenk you veddy much. --Wack'd Talk to me!Admire my handiwork! 11:17, 10 October 2007 (UTC)

Why no fan sites? I think they are a part of what should be added as external links. Some of these sites contain items like vid captures, photos, and other tidbits of info you won't find anywhere else. The presence of them also shows how popular a show is. If you're not going to have them then change the directory heading to Offical Site Links. Ajhunt 13:22, 10 October 2007 (UTC)
Mostly because fansites do not meet the wikipedia requirements of being a reliable source of information (WP:RS). Too much rumor, speculation and just incorrect information in them to used. Also wikipedia is not a links directory (WP:NOT#LINK). The external links don't need to be "official". They just need to be to things that are reliable but can't be in wikipedia because of formatting or other practical concerns. If the content can be in the article, the content should be and the link used as a reference, not an external link. (WP:LINKS) --NrDg 14:16, 10 October 2007 (UTC)

The external links don't need to be "official". They just need to be to things that are reliable

Wha? Do you know what official means? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Megagents (talkcontribs) 14:22, 16 October 2007 (UTC)

Fansites don't count as references, and they do not belong in the External Links section. The only fansites that could be put there are official fansites, i.e. endorsed by Nickolodeon or the creator of iCarly. Armiris (talk) 03:25, 2 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Episodes

I tink there shouldn't be an episode list on this article when there is a main article with the list.71.106.95.68 02:42, 20 October 2007 (UTC)

WHAT HAPPENED TO THE EPISODES LIST?!!!

I think there should be an episode list but it should be expanded. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jonapello22 (talkcontribs) 20:09, 18 February 2008 (UTC)

I added the Episode list(Jonapello22 (talk) 20:35, 18 February 2008 (UTC)

OMG what the heck happened to it, i did so much work (Jonapello22 (talk) 20:43, 18 February 2008 (UTC))

I fixed it (Jonapello22 (talk) 20:46, 18 February 2008 (UTC))

Nobody touch the episode list, it cites that it is from the iCarly Episode list page so why keep deleting it? (Jonapello22 (talk) 20:46, 18 February 2008 (UTC))

I deleted it because that information is totally redundant with the episode list article. The purpose of an list of episodes article is to REMOVE that information from the main article. I you have episode information to add, put it in the proper article. --NrDg 21:10, 18 February 2008 (UTC)

Well please stop there is nothing wrong, well i you have doesnt make sense but i guess i dont have episode information. Please stop editing these episodes, they arent even offending you so please stop. (Jonapello22 (talk) 21:20, 18 February 2008 (UTC))

We have an article called List of iCarly episodes. The purpose of that article is to list all the episode information and remove it from the main article. This is the way Wikipedia organizes show articles. That article is like an other page to this article. Episode information DOES NOT BELONG in this article. It must go where it belongs. It will continue to be removed from this article if it gets added back. Please spend your time and efforts on improving the proper article for the information you have. --NrDg 21:30, 18 February 2008 (UTC)

When it comes to episode titles, should TV Guide/imdb be followed or the site? On all the guides for television, episode 1.18 is known as iGot a Sponsor but on iCarly.com, it is shown as iPromote Tech-Foots. I have been trying to follow what my television guide shows but after others have been changing it, I am not sure what should be followed. Sugarcream (talk) 17:10, 23 March 2008 (UTC)

If there is a conflict between reliable sources it is best to list both with a reference for each. Normally the official site is the authoritative reference but might not have been updated. TV Guide and TV.com are what is published though. Nothing is perfectly accurate and unless the show itself has the title embedded we can't know for sure. --NrDg 18:05, 25 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] "Sam"

What I don't understand is at the end of "Sam"'s description they say in the epidoe "Trapped in The Closet" they reviele Sam's a Lesbian, yet there is no such episode. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.169.188.156 (talk) 22:47, 10 November 2007 (UTC)

Are you referring to the Halloween episode or the episode when they're spying on their Teacher?

Either way, Sam's not a lesbian. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Megagents (talkcontribs) 20:18, 22 December 2007 (UTC)

It's apparentally been already taken away from the article, since I don't see it, but i just want to say it's obviously vandalism. --96.231.22.134 (talk) 23:40, 2 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Spin off?

iCarly is in the category "Television spin-offs". Is it a spin-off though? I know Miranda Cosgrove plays Megan in Drake and Josh but in iCarly she plays Carly. It's a completly different character. Is iCarly a spin-off of something else and I'm just not aware? There is no mention in the article of it being a spin-off. So if it is, someone should include that in the article, and if it is not, someone should take it out of the "spin-off" category. --Melboy (talk) 20:28, 9 December 2007 (UTC)

Its only a spinoff because of spencer who was crazy steve in drake and josh which because of the two characters led it to be believed as a spinoff, but yes i agree it shouldnt be a spinoff. (Jonapello22 (talk) 20:59, 18 February 2008 (UTC))

[edit] Carly Shay fansites

carlyshay.webs.com is one of the best places to go to for iCarly info! millions of people go on it EVERYDAY! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.104.30.179 (talk) 05:00, 13 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Seattle?

The show takes place in Seattle but i am psitive it was recorded in LA. Well, I am not sure, but I am going to find more, of what to put down. I'll see other shows and where it says it takes place. JMC.me (talk) —Preceding comment was added at 21:18, 1 March 2008 (UTC)

What happened to the Samantha "Sam" Puckett section? Armiris (talk) 03:21, 2 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Hidden appearances

Should the 'Hidden Appearances' section be renamed to 'Trivia'? Armiris (talk) 03:30, 2 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Sam Jewish?

I'm not saying whether or not I agree with the statement saying that Sam may be Jewish, but if she is seen with a Star of David necklace (which I have never seen) she most likely is Jewish. I'm a Reform Jew and I eat non-kosher things all the time. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.184.243.179 (talk) 23:43, 3 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Changes

I noticed today that someone made new articles on the iCarly page. I think it should be kept. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 209.247.23.23 (talk) 15:31, 9 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Lewbert = John Kassir?

I'm pretty sure that's him, but I need a source. Is Lewbert listed in the iCarly credits? Who plays him? Tenk you veddy much. --Wack'd Talk to me!Admire my handiwork! 11:14, 16 April 2008 (UTC)

Kassir seems to be linked by some fan to almost everything on Nick. To my knowledge, I have yet to see a credit for Lewbert. WAVY 10 Fan (talk) 16:54, 16 April 2008 (UTC)
He played the hobo in "Moody's Point" on The Amanda Show, which looks exactly like Lewbert. This isn't just some random assosiation, there's a basis for my guess. Tenk you veddy much. --Wack'd Talk to me!Admire my handiwork! 18:23, 16 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Media#Conflicts for Cancellation

Is there any purpose for this section being in this article? WAVY 10 Fan (talk) 16:54, 28 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Trivia section

Most of the trivia in this article is made up of cultural references in the show that are already mentioned on the Dan Schneider article. Would it still be necessary to keep these in the article under a different section?--Classicrockfan42 (talk) 04:39, 26 May 2008 (UTC)

I think the items are inappropriately listed on the Dan Schneider article. The cultural references have nothing to do with Schneider, specifically, and don't belong in a biography. Wolfer68 (talk) 08:07, 30 May 2008 (UTC)
