[edit] Synopsis
As Aeryn fires her pulse pistol at point blank range at John, who has been taken over by Harvey, Jack hits her arm so she misfires. He tells her this is just the dying remains of Harvey, who is trying to get Aeryn to kill him and take John with him. Harvey dies, and John is back in control. Jack releases the wormhole knowledge secretly implanted in John's brain, and the two of them begin to create a weapon attached to the module Furlow built that is an exact replica of John's module. Required is a large quantity of radioactive material, which Jack needs no shielding from. As he is busy working and the others are elsewhere, Furlow kills Jack, and calls out from hiding her Charrid ally--she still wants to sell the wormhole information to the Scarrans. She tells John that a Charrid killed Jack, so John continues Jack's work and decides to fly the module himself. Furlow steals the device that was supposed to be used to destroy the dreadnought (and, as John explains, could destroy an entire planet), with John and Aeryn in hot pursuit. John and Aeryn split up, and John catches up to Furlow and her racer overturns, spillout out the device, its radioactive matter no longer shielded. Furlow tells John to not be a hero, to just walk away. She tells him she's too old to start over and she wants to settle down with the money she'd make from the wormhole knowledge. She flees, leaving John alone with the device. He tries to time it so he can shut the lead shielding while the revolving radioactive mass is facing away from him, but he just misses it, and is exposed to a fatal dose of radiation. He returns to Furlow's garage to reattach the device, but collapses in front of Aeryn and is forced to tell her that he's dying. He flies up on the module and creates a wormhole and sucks the dreadnought hole into it and from there it's transported into the heart of a sun. The entire destruction of the ship, which probably has 200,000 Scarrans on it, takes place in a matter of seconds. John then rejoins his companions on Talyn for a tearful death scene, expiring in Aeryn's arms, and with Stark alleviating his pain.
