[edit] Johannesburg suburbs

Because I do plan to expand them, and these are all legally recognises divisions of Johannesburg. Things tend to get expanded more when they exist, than if they don't exist at all. Páll 7 July 2005 20:26 (UTC)

[edit] Postural Integration

Hello, I see you dispute the neutrality of our page. Can you give a reason so we can resolve the problem ??

Thank you, User:Osioni

Thank you again for your interest and the point you made. This method is not "medical", and that was not our original text, which has now been corrected. Niall.

[edit] Tango.info

Hi IByte. I tried to improve the article tango.info. It now has more information. I would like to get a feedback from you. Would also like to here under what conditions a website-entry has to be made, to avoid further problems like that. Where is the border between Wikipedia is not a webguide and those entries that are allowed. There are lots of Website entries, but only two for tango, the other one being todotango.com - the Alexa number one in tango. Whatever the outcome is - best regards Tobias Conradi (Talk) 11:20, 5 August 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Bots

No I am not. I am just using tabs and organiusation. Much as I would like to learn about bots I don't know how to use them, SqueakBox 22:35, August 6, 2005 (UTC)

Having read the bot page link you sent me it may be that my editing style brings up similar issues to those of bot users; server strain, unchecked results (ie I don't check everyone), and perhaps this issue should be brought up somewhere, as I know 16 edits a min is fast even for just 2 or 3 mins. Some of the Colombia departments contain 120+ municipalities, and the way I do it (for efficiency) I set everything up and then push the edit buttons as the final task. So you may want to flag this somewhere,

[edit] Jennings Effect

Yes, a bone to pick :-) I don't see a) that there was actually any discussion of the merge on Jennings Effect, or b) that you actually did any merging. You effectively dropped the page, which had useful things to say (or so I think, since I was the one saying them) and didn't pull any of that material into the main article, even though there was a separate section into which to put it. Comments?
--Baylink 01:42, 14 August 2005 (UTC)

My apologies; clearly, I misread the history.
--Baylink 16:56, 14 August 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Image: TAPVC.jpg

OK. I can delete the image on my page. Can I still keep the page?

[edit] Thank you, IByte !

Thank you for telling me that the introduction to Tat tvam asi: vishishtadvaita interpretation was insufficient. I hope I have fixed it now. Incidentally, how is it that you bumped into the article so quickly after I started it? I appreciate your alertness in your role on the clean-up job. --Profvk 04:12, 14 August 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Thanks for tidying up the Euler Diagrams page and putting thos better pictures in

TA muchly, Robin !

[edit] Richard Weiss

Not sure this guy is nottable enough for an article. Thanks for drawing it to my attention. Will do something soon, and will let you know. Have delinked Weiss from the math article for the moment. Definitely not me, SqueakBox 15:18, August 15, 2005 (UTC)

That is fine by me. I will do it. Having created it it is now on my watchlist, so I can monitor any future activity (I actually created it to stop any vandalisms at a moment when my name was being banded about the internet and other strange affairs, SqueakBox 17:10, August 15, 2005 (UTC), SqueakBox 17:10, August 15, 2005 (UTC)

It and Billy Weiss (which if you pump into Google with Honduras throws me up) have both been given the {{delete}} template, SqueakBox 17:28, August 15, 2005 (UTC)

[edit] No. 490 Squadron RNZAF er RAF er both

Thanks for well intentioned edit to my rather hasitily done stub...I've gone and removed it because, bizarre as it sounds, 490 Sqaudron was an Royal Air Force unit. And an Royal New Zealand Air Force unit. Sort of. I've borrowed a paragraph of explanation from another article and stuck it at the end of that one:-)

[edit] My awful spelling :-)

Thanks for tidying up after me :-). I wouldn't say you were wrong about RNZAF/RAF, more I didn't word things clearly enough when I wrote it. Just checked 490 Squadron and the change was there now - wording to the link looks the same, but it takes you to the RAF page if you click on it - link to the RNZAF is a little later :-).

[edit] Wikipedia:Votes for deletion/Bush Sydney J. UK Optometrist/Researcher/Inventor: Introduced Cardioretinometry December 2002.

Please revisit the discussion. Uncle G 12:06:35, 2005-08-24 (UTC)

[edit] Farid Essebar and Atilla Ekici

Hi IB. Do you have any further info about Atilla Eckici? I mentioned him in Farid Essebar's article and need to create an article about him. I have no relative info about him. Do you? -- Svest 01:32, August 27, 2005 (UTC) Wiki me up™

[edit] Hey! Yay!

Can't believe I didn't see your vandalism, er, note until now. Thankies. Nice to be noticed, wherever it was. I wonder why it seems like there's more Dutch here than any other (non-English) European country. Off the top of my head there's Radiant!, JRM, and Gkhan... Hm. Oh yeah, and this IByte guy, too. Well, whatever, seen you do good work, so keep it up and happy editing. Dmcdevit·t 04:24, August 28, 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Disjunctive

Hello, IByte, how are you? Yes, I left the C syntax out of the merge of Disjunctive because there was no place to put it, and it does not seem logical to include it. Imagine a page about horses with a single line at the bottom that says, "oh, by the way, Germans say Pferd." The fact is covered in C syntax, where I believe it belongs. Cheers! --Lockley 21:43, 30 August 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Thanks

Again, thanks for pointing out my ambigious wording. I was just trying to help with orphaned VfD's, but my mistake, I think, was not to be clear what I was doing (although I think I was on other occassions). Happy to be pulled up, and learn from the mistake. Thanks :) --Doc (?) 15:10, 5 September 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Don't give up.

I understand your desire to keep your blood pressure down, but ... really. Don't let other people determine your level of participation in policy discussions. Have faith that the community can see the same thing you see, and keep your cool.

Thanks for participating in heartburn-inducing discussions. I've really appreciated having your input on the Wikipedia talk pages, and I hope you continue. Kind regards, Nandesuka 01:53, 14 September 2005 (UTC)

I'm glad that you're not as disheartened as I originally feared. And I understand feeling like you're banging your head against a wall. Incidentally, I've been nominated for adminship. If you are so inclined, please feel free to stop by and express your opinion. Nandesuka 23:22, 14 September 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Nandesuka's RfA

Thanks for supporting my RfA. I'll work hard to try to live up to the confidence you're showing in me. And thanks for keeping your chin up about circus clowns. Nandesuka 01:05, 17 September 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Ibyte/Bot

Hi IByte, I had an idea of writing a bot to set wikify/cleanup/empty/db tags on new pages under human supervision when I discovered your bot. What is the current status ? Is it testable ? If you need help on the development, I could do some stuff. Thanks. Ze miguel 11:23, 21 October 2005 (UTC)

IByte, thanks for your reply, but I'm now concentrating my efforts on the CDVF. Later. -- Ze miguel 17:55, 31 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Hlavní město

Perhaps it would be best to modify the template so Czech name isn't link. The template was created by User:Caroig (as replacement of cut-and-copied table written and used by me) few months ago and is not set in stone. Alternatively it is perhaps possible to use Czech article [1]. Pavel Vozenilek 03:10, 17 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] [Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Sturmgrenadier]

hi, there is an organized campaign to save the above self-promotional vanity games-club page from deletion.... i'm wondering if you'd be willing to take a look and voice your opinion? normally i wouldnt care but (a) i hate organized campaigns from groups of users (especially when they have vested interests but dont declare them) and (b) when challenged about it, they suggested i try it myself! so here i am.... cheers! [edit] Dutch "calibration"

Since you are citing Dutch law on Pound (mass), does that also prohibit use of the ons? Or does it just prohibit use of a 500 g pond? And does it have anything to do with the pond having been defined as 1000 g in Dutch law? Gene Nygaard 21:07, 30 March 2006 (UTC)

  • Yes, both pond and ons are no longer formally valid, and metric units have to be used. The contemporary colloquial meanings are 500g and 100g, respectively. According to what I can find, it might very well have had to do with unit confusion. The units were standardised in 1870 and the non-metric units abolished as synonyms in 1937. [edit] Regarding "Article (grammar)"

Die is only used for Feminine nouns in the Nominative and Accusative cases. In the Dative and Genitive, der is used. See German_grammar#Articles_and_article-like_words

Y'all take care now, --J Riddy 05:29, 3 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Template:Summary/Temp

Hi, I just noticed that a template you created, Template:Summary/Temp, is unused and appears to be abandoned. I've marked it as deprecated, meaning it'll be deleted in two weeks' time if nobody objects. If there's a reason to keep it please leave a note at Wikipedia talk:Deprecated and orphaned templates and feel free to remove the {{deprecated}} tag from the template. Thanks.
