[edit] Flora of Maldives
Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! I see that you have been adding Category:Flora of Maldives to a large number of plants, namely:
- Chili pepper, Datura, Taro, Tamarind, Sweet potato, Eggplant, Watermelon, Castor oil plant, Oleander, Banana, Custard-apple, Sugar-apple, Mango, Watermelon, Tamarind, Sugar-apple, Banyan, Sapodilla, Pomegranate, Passiflora edulis, Papaya, Lemon, Lime (fruit), Hyacinth bean, Jackfruit, Guava, Chili pepper, Custard-apple, Coconut, Breadfruit, Banana, Betel nut, Bitter melon, Syzygium samarangense, Syzygium jambos, Noni, Hibiscus tiliaceus, Terminalia catappa, Terminalia catappa
This list includes many plants cultivated in many parts of the world for food (bananas, chili peppers, ...) or as ornamentals (Terminalia catappa, Oleander, ...) and many which have escaped cultivation or become weeds in many parts of the world (Syzygium jambos, etc.). We can't possibly have attach Flora of XXX tags to all such plants for all relevant XXX's. And almost all of these plants aren't even native to the Maldives, let alone endemic. To make this category useful, I would recommend narrowing it to Endemic flora of the Maldives.
(I am also putting a copy of this on the Category's talk page.) --Macrakis 15:22, 13 June 2007 (UTC)
