The article says he lived "in the 12th and 13th centuries", and was alive as late as 1243. Skinner, Neil (July 1968). "The Origin of the Name 'Hausa'". Africa: Journal of the International African Institute 38 (3): 253. doi:10.2307/1157217.  says that he died in "the last quarter of the thirteenth century". In other words, after 1275. I find it unlikely - but not impossible - that he could have been an active poetry collector before 1200 and died after 1275. Anyone got more information about his life? He was born in 1213 and died in 1286, according to http://arkeotavira.com/Estudos/texto-ibn-ammar-finalR.pdf. Picaroon (t) 22:08, 16 December 2007 (UTC)
