Non-free / fair use media rationale for IBM WebExplorer | |

Description |
Screenshot for IBM Web Explorer displaying the Main Page as of 24th February 2004. |

Article | |
Portion used |
The client area is copyrighted by the Wikimedia Foundation, I guess. I don't remember who was editing the main page in 2004. There is only text that is covered by the GFDL. The user interface elements are probably copyrighted by IBM 1997 or earlier. |
Low resolution? |
It is the original resolution. Should it be reduced? |
Purpose of use |
To illustrate the look of IBM Web Explorer. |
Replaceable? |
The user interface elements are irreplaceable since OS/2 is the only system that can run IBM Web Explorer. The page content could be replaced with another but Wikipedia pages are of course usable in Wikipedia. This can be a problem for use outside of Wikipedia. |
The program menus are in Spanish. The version is 1.2. Unvisited links are red because they have been configured so.
It is not the real page but a saved version. Web browser doesn't do virtual hosts.
This is a screenshot of copyrighted computer software, and the copyright for its contents is most likely held by the author(s) or the company that created the software. It is believed that the use of a limited number of web-resolution screenshots:
…qualifies as fair use under United States copyright law. Any other uses of this image, on Wikipedia or elsewhere, may be copyright infringement. See Wikipedia:Non-free content for more information. If this is a screenshot of free software (GPL, BSD, etc.) do not use this template! Use the license tag that correspond to the license instead, optionally alongside {{Free screenshot}} to categorize as a free screenshot.

As such, portions of this screenshot may be licensed under two separate licenses. The GPL and GFDL are not the same license; they are only connected through the Free Software Foundation, the creator of the licenses.
