[edit] Notable?

I ported this article from Ian Roberts as part of creating a disambiguation page. However, I have no familiarity with this person, and the article does not state how he is notable. Can somebody improve this article to explain how this is a notable professor? Cleduc 2 July 2005 21:49 (UTC)

I came across a page for 'Ian Roberts' from a link on the List of linguists page, saw that it referred to two other people of this name, and added a brief paragraph on this Ian Roberts because I felt the existing link was misleading as it stood. Cleduc has since (and wisely) given the individual Ians their own articles. I can expand this article if people think it's worthwhile. Ian is well known within linguistics, but perhaps not highly notable otherwise (btw, I had never heard of the other Ian Robertses - I know of this one because he once taught me).

Query: what will happen to the link from the List of linguists page if this page is deleted?
