[edit] Am I notable?

Wikipedia judges a person notable if "he or she has received significant coverage in reliable secondary sources that are independent of the subject."

I meet this criterion on the following grounds:

  • An article I coauthored was covered in The New York Times and The Washington Post. See entry for references and links.
  • The Southern Poverty Law Center wrote a brief article on me as one of the "New Racialists." See entry for reference and link. There are other references to me on the SPLC website.
  • I was the primary author of The Color of Crime[1], published by New Century Foundation. This report was the subject of a Pat Buchanan column and was also referenced in Pat Buchanan's book State of Emergency.[2] Also, articles on the study appeared on major websites like VDARE and Intellectual Conservative. [3] [4] My authorship of Color of Crime is not noted in the article and should be added. I'm not going to do this myself out of conflict of interest considerations.
  • I have written several articles that were published in refereed journals. See entry for citations.

I did not write this article; various other people did. I did not know about Wikipedia's conflict of interest policy when I edited it.

[edit] Orangemike violates civility guidelines

Orangemike, who proposed deletion of this page, called me a "racist." This is a term of abuse intended to intimidate and silence people who accept the overwhelming evidence for innate racial differences. Orangemike thus violated Wikipedia's civility guidelines. He is attempting to influence this discussion by insulting me.

  • I removed the prod, since you disagree with it...disputed prods can be removed (keep in mind the article can now go to WP:AFD). And a note on conflict of interest: you are allowed to edit your own article, but you need to be very careful you keep a neutral point of view, something that is very hard for a person to do when writing about themselves. --UsaSatsui (talk) 15:50, 29 February 2008 (UTC)
