Ian McPhillips was a notable Coast Guardsman during Hurricane Katrina in 2005 . During this time, McPhillips rescued over 100 civilians of New Orleans, Louisiana. His accomplishments were honored by such dignitaries as Prince Charles of England and celebrities such as Kevin Costner and Ashton Kutcher. McPhillips continues to serve at the Coast Guard Air Station in Belle Chasse, Louisiana alongside with the other Helicopter Rescue Swimmers that were so heroic during that time of peril.
