Broadcaster Ian James Gordon Roberts (known as Ian James) was born in Wrexham, North Wales on 11 June 1965. A student of The British School of Brussels, his radio career commenced presenting English Language radio programmes for several Belgian Pirate Radio Stations. In 1983, Ian James returned to the UK taking up position of drive presenter for the newly-formed ILR radio station, Marcher Sound. In 1983, Ian James was known as being the youngest presenter working in UK commercial radio. His radio credits since include: MFM 103.4, Marcher Gold 1260, Touch Radio, Magic 1170 & Wish FM. Ian James is also an established voice artist and is recognised as the voice behind several TV commercials including HSBC, Walt Disney & Knowsley Safari Park. He is currently signed to BBC Radio Leeds where his regular shows include "Glitterball" - a 70's style disco show using the name check "Doctor Dance".
