Ian Ferguson (athlete)

Ian Ferguson is a former track and field athlete from New Zealand. He is no relation to his namesake, fellow New Zealander and multiple Olympic Gold medal winning canoeist Ian Ferguson. Feguson was a sprinter who was placed several times in the New Zealand National Track and Field Championships. Over 100 metres he was third in 1978, second in 1979 and third in 1983. Over 200m his best placing was fourth in 1978 . He competed for Otago until 1979 and then for Waikato. His best times were 10.76 (also 10.68w and 10.5w) for 100m and 21.79 for 200m.
