Ian Donald

Professor Ian Donald (born December 1910 - died June 19, 1987) was a Scottish doctor who pioneered the use of diagnostic ultrasound in medicine. His article Investigation of Abdominal Masses by Pulsed Ultrasound, published June 7, 1958 in the medical journal The Lancet, was one of the defining publications in the field.

He was Regius Professor of Midwifery at the University of Glasgow
