Ian Cussick (born 17 June 1954) is a singer-songwriter from Dundee, Scotland. After leaving school at the age of fifteen, Cussick formed several local bands, with moderate success. In 1973, he answered an advertisement in Melody Maker for a "singer wanted", and flew to Germany to work with a popular showband.[citation needed] Two years later, he was a member of Linda and the Funky Boys, who scored a hit with the early disco song "Shame Shame Shame", which sold around five million singles.[citation needed]
Ian Cussick went on to record ten solo albums over a period of twenty years, landing a multi-million seller with his composition "Meet me By The Water".[citation needed] He also worked extensively on other productions, including "RAM Pietsch - Norwegian Wood" which featured the Munich Symphony Orchestra, and the vocalists Dan McCafferty, Mary Hopkin, and Maggie Reilly. This sold some two hundred thousand copies in Germany alone.[citation needed]
He is a prolific songwriter, and has written hits for other artists, including "Call Me Up" ("Talisiman" in the Spanish version) for the female duo Baccara in 1987. "Call Me Up" reached the top 5 in the Spanish charts and the top 40 in Germany. At present, Ian Cussick is concentrating on song writing, and running a record & publishing company based in Europe, with distribution worldwide.
Now he is writing a new CD with three Song's, he is making a Song for "The Power Boat Racing" in Germany and a Ballade for Harley-Davidson Drivers there like to get married. And the new POP Song is "Love Communication", there is a typical Ian Cussick Song.
