Ian Barry (born March 25, 1973) is a self-taught custom motorcycle builder who is earning a worldwide reputation as an innovator and sought-out builder of one-of-a-kind, custom bikes. [1]
He is the co-founder of Falcon Motorcycles, and his Falcon bikes "blur the lines dividing mechanics and art" according to UK's Esquire Magazine, in which Falcon's bespoke motorcycles were chosen to represent the business of custom motorcycle construction in the magazine's 2008 "Style 100" issue.[2]
Ian's most recent build, the 'Bullet Falcon' was the winner of the "Best Custom Motorcycle" award at the 2008 Legend Of The Motorcycle International Concurs.[1] The award was given by Jesse James' Garage Magazine.[3]

An American, Ian Barry was born in Santa Cruz, California to Regan Barry and Louise Glendinning. He is the eldest of four children.[4]
A builder known for visual elegance and subtle use of materials, the Ian Barry signature is fully custom Motorcycles built around the derelict frame and engine of British bikes from the post war era. Says the LA Times "Barry is a Brit bike aficionado whose vision is to create prototypes of could-have-been bikes that never actually existed, i.e., a 1950 board track racer."[5]
In 2007 Barry founded Falcon Motorcycles with his British fiancee: rally car driver[6] Amaryllis Knight. Although his early work reflected the factory tradition, he quickly developed a distinctive style of his own, and has recently garnered worldwide respect and recognition, with the combination of ingenious metalwork and inventive engineering in highly collectable ridable sculptures. Falcon Motorcycles fast earned a loyal following among his high profile clientele that include among many: actor Giovanni Ribisi and Queens of The Stone Age frontman Josh Homme.[5] The accelerated rise to international prominence of this young Marque, is assuring that Barry is becoming known as one of the fastest-rising young names among the high-profile custom motorcycle builders of today.[1]
Ian Barry unveiled his most recent motorcycle "The Bullet Falcon" at this years Legend Of The Motorcycle - International Concours d'Elegance, on May 3 2008. The Board Track racer inspired "Bullet Falcon Motorcycle", started life as the raw derelict frame and engine of a pre-unit post-war Triumph Thunderbird, and took over 900 hours to fabricate. It was custom created by commission, from the Skateboarder and Actor Jason Lee, and won the 2008 Custom Culture Award for best custom motorcycle at the Legend show.[7]

Barry lives in Hollywood, California with his fiancee Amaryllis Knight.
He plays guitar in the band 'Black Math Horseman'[8]recently produced by Scott Reeder of Kyuss. [9]
