Iakovos o Persis (St. James of Persia)

Iakovos o Persis (St. James of Persia) (5th century AD), saint of the Greek Orthodox Church. He renounced his faith under the reign of the Persian King Yazdegerd I (reigned 399 - 421); when he later repented and recanted, he was tortured to death at the king's orders. His feast is celebrated on November 27th.
