I Wonder Why

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

"I Wonder Why" is a doo-wop song, written by Maxwell Anderson (lyrics) and Ricardo Weeks,[1] and first recorded by Dion and the Belmonts in 1958. It is about a man who is talking to his girlfriend or fiancee about why he does not know how he loves her.

The song was covered by The Alley Cats, which has appeared at least on two different CDs; and by Showaddywaddy.

The Dion & the Belmonts version is used in the opening sequence of A Bronx Tale as well as the pilot episode of mob-drama The Sopranos.
