"I Wanna Sex You Up" was a hit song for R&B boy band Color Me Badd in 1991. The song spent three weeks at number 1 on the UK Singles Chart and reached number 2 on the US Billboard Hot 100. An alternate version also appeared on the New Jack City soundtrack, and in 1992 the song won the group a Soul Train Music Award for Best R&B/Soul Single, Group, Band or Duo and Soul Train Music Award for Best R&B/Soul Song of the Year. The "to the tick tock ya don't stop" soundbite is a sampled from Slick Rick's "La Di Da Di." The bassline and the "I know you not gonna sing that song!" soundbite are sampled from Betty Wright's "Tonight is the Night." The song was also ranked at #40 on Blender's list of the "50 Worst Songs Ever"[1] and VH1's "100 Greatest Songs of the 90s".

Radio stations edited the word "sex" out of the song, so disc jockeys refer to the song as "I Wanna Love You Up".

A sample of "I Wanna Sex You Up" has been used in a song called "Tick Tock" by Lemar.[2]

The song can be heard in an episode of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and the movie New Jack City.
