[edit] Ships = Camels?

I've been pondering this song for the past few days, and my sister mentioned that Camels have been referred to as "ships of the desert" -- this would be a much more likely explanation. I googled "camel ships desert" and found a lot of supporting references. I don't have the time to write it up, but I think this worth including as one probable interpretation of the song.
