I Never Said That I Was Brave is an EP by Philadelphia-based indie rock band mewithoutYou, as well as their first-ever recording. It was released on the small Kickstart Audio label in early 2001, and has since been out-of-print.

The five songs feature the band at its hardest sounding, with frontman Aaron Weiss screaming instead of the singing-speaking hybrid he is known for today. Two tracks ("I Never Said That I Was Brave" and "We Know Who Our Enemies Are") were later re-recorded for the band's subsequent album, [A to B] Life; the sequel to "Four Word Letter" appears on Catch for Us the Foxes.
