I Musici de Montréal is a Canadian chamber orchestra.

The orchestra is comprised of 15 musicians and performs works that range from baroque to the contemporary. Cellist Yuli Turovsky founded and conducts the orchestra.

I Musici tour throughout the world in addition to their three series of subscription concerts in Montreal.

The orchestra records exclusively with Chandos Records of England and has released over 40 albums.

They are considered among the greatest interpreters of the works of George Frideric Handel.

I Musici and conductor Turovsky have won many awards for their recordings including:

  • 1988 Diapason d’Or (Shostakovich’s 14th Symphony)
  • 1992 Penguin Guide Rosette ( Concerti grossi, opus 6 by Handel)

Other awards include:

  • two 1998 Opus Awards from the Conseil Québecois de la musique for Recording Event of the Year and Best Recording (works by Gorecki, Pärt and Schnittke)
  • 1999 Grand Prix des Arts by the Montreal Urban Community
  • August 2001 CD of the Month by BBC Music Magazine (works by Miaskovsky, Schnittke and Denisov)
  • 2002 Juno Award nomination for Best Classical Album of the Year
  • Juno Award for Best Classical Album of the Year (works by Ginestera, Villa-Lobos and Evangelista)
