I Bleed For This? (ibft) was a zine focusing on themes of angst and unbridled negativity. It was influential enough that the Cult of the Dead Cow published one of the ibft essays. It was published between March 9, 1994 and March 7, 1997. The zine was edited by Jason Farnon and Snarfblat. The mailing address listed in the first issue was in Cambridge, MA.It was distributed via FTP, Gopher, and BBS. It consisted of 55 issues.
The first paragraph of the first issue read:
"Cool, you're reading our file. Now you must die. _I Bleed for This?_ is a Quality Product put out by two pathetic fucks from somewhere near Boston. It is not remotely cool in any way. It's just something we have to do, a way to pass the time until we die."
This overwhelming negative attitude is what made the zine notable. The editors mocked themselves, their zine, and most of all their readers throughout its existence.
