Pls note this is a draft, thx.
The sex ratio is the ratio of males to females in a population of organisms. Usually this ratio is approximately 1:1 -- for example the human sex ratio. The classical explanation for why this is has been described by A.W.F. Edwards as "probably the most celebrated argument in evolutionary biology"[1], and is generally attributed to R.A. Fisher[2], hence 1:1 ratios are "Fisherian" (but see Edwards 1998[1]). Skewed sex ratios (also non-Fisherian sex ratios or extraordinary sex ratios) require special explanations.
[edit] The classical explanation
Small population size, sampling effect (genetic drift of the Y chromosome), skewed.
