In the sixth Goosebumps: Series 2000 book, I Am Your Evil Twin, a boy discovers that there is a sinister doppelgänger of himself running around and causing havoc in his name.

This story is about a boy named Montgomery who is about to live in his cousin Nan's house. Things start weirdly as he goes to his new school. The principal says that she met him already while he knows he hadn't. He then sees his clone and tells Nan about it, but she doesn't believe him. He tells his uncle. His uncle believes him, but mistakes the clone as Nan. Montgomery's twin was Nan, but that wasn't the one he saw. In the end there turned out to be 4 clones. Nan proved that Monty was one of them, then they shipped the others to South Africa. At last, the one Nan chose was not the real one. It said, "Nan, I'm your evil twin!", revealing her trick to discover the real Monty had been outsmarted by one of the other clones.
