"I Am" was the most critcially acclaimed song from Kid Rock's self titled release. It was the 4th single from the album and with no music video it peaked at No 28 on the mainstream rock charts. The song theme was taking pride in where you came from especially after 9/11. The song is very similar to Lynyrd Skynyrd's "All I Can Do Is Write About It". It was co written by radio dj Arthur "Big Daddy" Pinhallow from WRIF Detroit, and a local artist from Detroit,Huck Johns.
