Loveless said about "I'm That Kind Of Girl": "...I had gone off for about a week, to take a weeks break from some of the business, and everything else, and just to get away to listen to some of the material that had been sent to my office from various publishing companies. So after about the 150th song, this one came about on my tape deck. And it was just the lyrics and the sound of it, it sounded like so much fun. This song was written by Matraca Berg, a wonderful songwriter, and I just couldn't resist the fun of it. The lyrics, and this is what I would sort of call my risky song for the album.."
The song charted for 18 weeks on the Billboard Hot Country Singles and Tracks chart, reaching #5 during the week of 30 March 1991.
