"I'm Blue for You, Boo-Bo-Bo-Bo-Boo" is a song from the animated short Disney film, A Symposium on Popular Songs which was first released in 1962. The song was written by Robert B. Sherman & Richard M. Sherman and performed by Skip Farrell. According to the film's 2005 DVD audio commentary provided by co-songwriter Richard Sherman, this song is a tribute to Bing Crosby's signature crooning style.

[edit] Crooning elements
- repetition of "Boo boo bo bo boo"
- whistling of melody
- various over-rhyming of the word "heart"
[edit] Parody song
This song is classified as a parody of a particular song style (specifically "crooning" or "love ballad") as it does not seek to expand the genre but merely points out weaknesses within it.
[edit] The Shermans and Bing Crosby
The Sherman Brothers' father, tin pan alley songwriter, Al Sherman wrote several songs which were sung by Bing Crosby in the 1930s and 1940s (see: "Pretending"). In 1970, Robert & Richard had a chance, in their own right, to work with the legendary Crosby on the made-for-television musical production of Goldilocks.
