It is loosely based on the book by Lois Duncan and was filmed in Park City, Utah.

[edit] Plot

A group of teenagers are terrorized in a small Colorado town in this latest installment of the I Know What You Did Last Summer series. When an Independence Day prank based on a frightening legend results in an accidental death of one of their best friends, the friends swear to themselves to secrecy and not tell a single living soul about their involvement, their friendship is tested however, as they drift further into one year later, they receive threatening messages suggesting someone else might know what happened that fateful summer evening.

The plot is very similar to the original film.

[edit] Sequel

Columbia Pictures recently announced that a fourth film in the series is in talking stages, the penned title The Fisherman which is announced to hit production in 2008 by Screen Gems.[citation needed] No director or writer is yet available, but due to the major business mark, more information is soon to be released. Such rumors such as Jim Gillespie, the director of the original is rumored to direct. It has been comfirmed that it will follow Lance gathering an elite team to track down the hook-wielding killer. This is the first film in the series to be rated PG-13 (the previous three were rated R.)
