Hyson Green
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Hyson Green is a small area located to the north-west of Nottingham City. Once famous for crime and poor housing, over recent years it has changed, and is now home to a variety of cultures with a thriving local economy.[1]
The area is served by Hyson Green Market tram station on the Nottingham Express Transit. The opening of this highly successful tram system has boosted the area's profile,[2] but still remains a comparatively violent area.[3]
Adjacent to Hyson Green Tram Stop is the Forest Recreation Ground, which holds the annual Nottingham Goose Fair, and frequent sport matches on the grass pitches. There is a small playground, and several astro-turf pitches, which aren't regularly used by the local population.
